Gerald Ford- rose up through the ranks thanks to GOP corruption, pardoned Nixon, klutzy, survived several assassination attempts. Nice guy, not a good president. D
Jimmy Carter- Weird dude. Nice work at Camp David early on, but then the country fell apart, and he was ill equipped to fix it. Sucked in his handling of the Iranian hostage situation. Redeemed his failed presdiency by being a great ex-president. D
Ronald Reagan- Actor, leader of revitalized jingoisitic sense of American spirit in the 80s, not a smart dude, but was charismatic. Has been turned into a Christ figure by today's right wing, who share none of Reagan's good qualities. His friendship with Gorbachev and Mikhail's willingness to change his country led to the end of the Cold War...not some bullshit flexing of muscle as has been rewritten by moronic comic book retard right wings. Blew it on domestic issues (AIDS epidemic, homelessness). Iran Contra and the loss of his brain in his second term can't be ignored. Sadly, he's still in discussion for best president of my lifetime. C
George Bush- Went from the penthouse to the outhouse. Americans with Disabilities Act. First Gulf War, in and out. Raising taxes was his Waterloo. Epic fail in '92 run against Clinton and Perot. Redeemed somewhat by his son's 8 years in the White House. Most qualified man with best resume to ever hold the office. D
Bill Clinton- Began a serious divisive split in America. Smart guy, easily distracted by pussy. Would rather climb a tree and lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth. A total bullshitter in every sense of the term. Impeachment was political crap, but he was a total liar, indisputably. His last day in office was an embarassment (pardons, refusing to leave, whining like a baby). He's the other one in discussion for best president in my lifetime. I never voted for him, Luckily, was president during a rare time of peace in America. The 90s, it turns out, were glorious. Also, he has charismatic, empathetic, and would probably be a great president these days. C
George W. Bush- A really, really dumb guy. A network of liars protected him. Learned nothing from Vietnam and Watergate, other than it is a lot easier to get away with such things with a good network of liars. Worst president ever, and he seemingly got worse and dumber as he went on. On the bright side, had some compassion/sensitivity, unlike many of his apologists. F
Barack Obama- His campaign was exciting, his speeches were brilliant. His presidency? not so much. A lot on his plate. Still not sure he can handle it all, or if anyone could. Has been overwhelmed by the hysteria of his detractors. If he can't succeed, who could?? In his defense, he clearly inherited a lot of crap, most of it probably unfixable. C- so far
